The gems of Itä-Uusimaa: Porvoo and Loviisa

Day 1
We start our trip in Porvoo, the second oldest city in Finland, by visiting the home museum of Finland's national poet Johan Ludvig Runeberg. The museum's guide tells us about the poet family's life in Porvoo. We meet up with a city guide after this, and he/she takes us on an interesting bus and/or walking tour through the city. A tasty lunch i served at restaurant Hanna-Maria in the old town and there is also time for shopping in the cozy shops in the old town. We continue to the historical Haiko Manor where we enjoy afternoon coffee and get to hear about the manor's fascinating history. We accommodate in comfortable rooms at the Spa hotel and there's a possibility to enjoy the pools and the gym at the Spa hotel. Dinner is served at the Manor restaurant.

Day 2
Breakfast is served at Haiko Manor before we leave for Malmgård castle, our first stop of the day. The beautiful castle origins from the 17th century and the current main buildning was built in 1882-1885. We get a guided tour of the castle and also of the brewery, where Malmgård brew their own beer. We can buy organic product from Malmgård's shop before we head to Loviisa city. We have lunch at a cozy restaurant in Loviisa and get to know the city on a guided bus tour. Our last stop is Bonga castle, an art exhibition that displays the colorful art work of artist Riitta Nelimarkka.
